ICT Education in Sri Lanka ICT in the Sri Lankan School System This is a a brief account of ICT in the Sri Lankan school curriculum. Writer is a pioneer in introducing ICT for the school system of Sri Lanka. He has an international exposure and has done a lot of research on ICT in the field of education. Feel free to read through the document and get a first hand knowledge in what is happening in the school system with relation to Information and Communication Technology. ICT was introduced to Sri Lankan schools in 1982. As a pilot project, 2 Computers were given to a school. At that time programming was the main subject taught with computers. This bored a majority of students and teachers specially who did not like mathematics. Number of computers given to a school was not sufficient. To be confident with computers a lot of handson experience is essential. There was a need for more computers and a curriculum that was appealing to students and teachers

ICT for Agriculture in Sri Lanka The agriculture sector in Sri Lanka employs 31.3% of the total labor force of the country, but its contribution to the Gross Domestic Production (GDP) is just 11.9% (Central Bank of Sri Lanka). So, basically one third of the labor force is utilized to produce the just over ten percent of the GDP. This is just one side of the issue, but when we consider other issues related to this, such as large amount of government’s money spent on agriculture as subsidies (fertilizer subsidies, etc.) which can be invested on some other sector for better results, continuous poverty of rural people who are engaged in agriculture, etc. - it is clear that we have a issue of productivity within the agriculture sector and we need to address it immediately. கணினி பிழைச்செய்தியும் அதற்கான தீர்வுகளும்... 1. பிழைச்செய்தி :No Fixed Disk present: காரணம்:ஹார்ட்ரைவ் சரியாக இணைக்கவில்லை என்றால் இவ்வாறு பிழைச்செய்தி வரும்.ஹார்ட்ரைவின் மின் இணைப்பானை சரிபார்க்கவும்.அனைத்து கேபிளிலும் சரியான மின்னழுத்தம் உள்ளதா என்று சரிபார்க்கவும்.பிறகு இணைப்பு கேபிளை சரியாக இணைக்கவும். 2.Error Reading Drive C" ஹார்ட்ரைவின் இணைப்புகள் சரியாகவுள்ளதா என்று சரிபார்க்கவும்.இணைப்புக் கேபிளில் பழுதிருந்தால் அதை மாற்றிடவும்.மீண்டும் பிழை செய்திவந்தால் ஆண்டிவைரஸ் நிரலை பயன்படுத்தி வைரஸ் இருந்தால் அதை நீக்கிவிடவும்.பிறகும் பிழை செய்தி வந்தால் "Scan disk" -ஐ இயக்கி செக்டார்கள் ஏதும் பழுதாகியுள்ளதா என்று பார்க்கவும்.செக்டார்கள் பழுதாகி இருந்தால் ஹார்ட்ரைவை மாற்றவும். 3.Track 0 not Found டிரைவின் ட்ராக் "0" கெட்டிருந்தால் இவ்வாறு பிழைச்செய்தி வரும். டிரைவின் கோப்பு விவர அட்டவணை(FAT) இங்கு தான் பதிந்திருக்கும்.இந்த அட்டவணையைக் கொண்டுதான் டிரைவில் பதிந்திருக்கும் அனைத்துத் தகவலையும் எழுத/படிக்க முடியும்.பூட் பிளாப்பியை பயன்படுத்த
